Asked to discuss a printer in which we had in our office. I said I will get someone to call back then hung up!!
This number called stating they were phoning regarding Windows on PC. I said the only problem I had was people making spam calls to me and the woman concerned denied this. When I said I didn't want to speak to her any more she was quite nasty, said she would block the IP address attached to the computer, wished me very nastily 'a nice day' and hung up.
I acquired a utility called Mac Cleanup Pro on my Mac, which caused messages to pop up saying that I had numerous issues which could be cleaned up, call 0800 031 5842 for help. So I called, guy with an Indian accent answered and asked to take control of my PC so that he could support me. Obviously a scam so I hung up. I called Apple support and they directed me to a utility called Malwarebytes, which successfully got rid of Mac Cleanup Pro. By the way, the malware had arrived when I foolishly downloaded something claiming to be an upgrade to AdobeFlashInstaller. If you see this, don't touch it, that's where the trouble starts !
virus on my computer mac keeps popping up saying i have loads on issues that need to be cleaned
Claimed to be BT and that my internet will be terminated today due to illegal activity being carried out by hackers. Hung up when I said I would call back later, rather than agreeing to a time for him or his 'colleagues' to call me back.
saying i have a virus on my pc.
claim to be from Sky say that insurance payment cover has run out when we told that we done not have Sky we told them to go and pester someone else they then hung up
Sky Maintenance Team ..
Thought I was on a legitimate site when trying to update my Garmin, asked basic info and said would call on my mobile. Called about ten minutes later and asked to log on remotely to check the problem, like an idiot I let them, got suspicious when they said I had no fire wall and wanted me to purchase one. Got really suspicious when they wanted me to pay for it by direct debit. I now have to find an independent technician to go through my laptop. Will be changing all my passwords as soon as I have had the laptop checked. Will not be using my laptop until that is sorted.
This was probably a cloned number. Pre recorded spam call. "This is the Internet service provider. We are going to disconnect your internet connection within 24 hours. Please press 1 to be connected to a technician" DO NOT PRESS ANYTHING!!! Hang up and report the number.
