Pretending to be HMRC for failure to submit records
0333 344 1475 Received a call today at 1320 with an automated voice recording with female american accent, purporting to be from the legal department of HMRC. Message kept breaking up but said I had been named in a lawsuit or legal proceedings and that my home was under surveillance (like HMRC would really tell you that!!). Asked me to call them back or else ....Needless to say, I didn't.
This is a phishing scam. DO NOT REPLY to this number. Pre recorded call claims to be from HMRC and claims that you will be prosecuted if you do not respond. In fact HMRC will only send you a letter if you owe them anything. They will never call you, especially using a pre recorded voice.
Automated voice, threatening action from HMRC
Received a missed call 23.07.18 - an automated voicemail message was left, claiming to be Sarah Wilkin of HMRC, and requesting urgent action to avoid the consequence of inaction.
Scam. Do not ring Back. Left a lady’s name but the message was automated
I received a voice message from someone called sarah. It was very threatening and said I need to get in touch asap or face the consequences. I never responded but today they have called me twice already! No message left this time. Be aware they are very threatening and I think vulnerable people may actually fall into this trap
automated message says sarah Wilson - HMRC needs to speak to you and if you don't call back you will face serious legal consequences. scam.
Voicemail from Sarah Wilson threatening legal action if I don’t call back on 0203 8075508. Saying she was hmrc officer
Called claiming to be HMRC when I asked to speak to supervisor they hung up.
